To exist and be consumed. To feel and dissolve. To live and leave a trace. To speak, to reveal oneself, and to disappear.
A whispering message—fleeting connection, lasting only as long as the flame endures.
This project turns language into matter, using wax as a metaphor. The phrase ‘A thought conveyed orally’ is sculpted into a candle, only to be consumed by fire—its meaning dissolving into warmth, light, and ultimately, absence.
As the letters melt, a soundscape unfolds—solitude, fragility, an unspoken connection. The artist’s isolation, yet a shared experience for those who perceive it.
A thought, once spoken, begins to vanish, yet leaves an indelible mark. What swiftly slips away also unites us in its passing. The thought escapes, flickers, disappears. And in solitude, we say goodbye.
